At your first visit
Your first appointment at The Chiropractic Works will be the starting point to maximising the best possible outcomes for you and your family. On arrival, you will need to complete our new patient form so please arrive approximately 5-10 minutes prior to your appointment time. Your appointment will be 30 minutes.
In your appointment, your chiropractor will take the time to learn about your health goals, lifestyle, immediate concerns and general health history.
Your chiropractor will complete an examination and discuss a recommended initial care plan. Depending on your examination and care plan, your chiropractor might begin treatment at your first appointment.
Following your first appointment, our Chiropractor Assistant will book in your future appointments in line with your initial care plan.
If you any questions, please take the time to chat with our team.
At your second visit
Your second appointment will be 15 minutes with your Chiropractor. At this follow up appointment your chiropractor will talk through a Report of Findings (ROF).
What does this mean? We will chat with you about the results of any tests and/or exams that we have done and talk through the initial care plan.
Your second appointment is a great time to talk with your Chiropractor about how you felt after your first appointment, your care plan and any questions/concerns you might have.
Our wellness care plan
Once completing your initial care plan, your Chiropractor will advise on the next step that will involve a personalised corrective or reconstructive treatment plan.
Following the completion of the reconstructive treatment plan, you can move to our Wellness Care plan which involves patients and families booking their appointments in advance at a regular time as recommended by your Chiropractor. We are passionate about your health and recommend that once you have taken the time to attain good spinal health and general well being, that you maintain it through regular Chiropractic adjustments.
Our Chiropractic Assistants can provide you with more information about the wellness care plan.

We know that as medical professionals, we sometimes sound like we are talking in another language so below we have broken down some of the terms we use as Chiropractors and explained some of the health benefits of Chiropractic care to help you understand your body.
What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a natural, holistic and hands-on approach to healthcare centered around the function of the Spine and Nervous System. The Spine is a series of bones called Vertebrae. Between each Vertebra and the next are Intervertebral Discs creating the spinal joints. The spine runs from the Cranium (skull) to the Coccyx (tailbone) and encases the spinal cord (an extension of the brain). The Spine forms the supporting structure for the rest of the body.
Explaining the Nervous System
The Nervous System is an organ system made up of the Brain, Spinal Cord and Nerves. The Brain is the control center and the Nerves transmit messages along the spinal cord to every cell, tissue and organ of the body and back again.
The Nervous System coordinates and regulates every function of the body, including the body’s ability to self-heal. Any interference to the nervous system may result in reduced function of the target organ, muscle or gland.
What is a subluxation?
A Subluxation is a restriction in a spinal joint due to physical, chemical or emotional stressors on the body. It may interfere with the function of the Nervous System and the communication between the Brain and body through the Spine. This interference can alter the function of the related organ, tissue or gland. Chiropractic is focused on removing Subluxations from the Spine.
What is an adjustment?
An Adjustment is the correction of a subluxation through the use of your Chiropracter’s hands or instrument. There are many different techniques a Chiropractor can use to adjust the subluxations they locate in your spine. The intent is to restore full natural range of motion to restricted joints and to remove the interference to the nervous system, to allow the body to self heal and self regulate.
